Nissan pulsar trim levelsThe installation I will be performing is the Plug n Play type. The 2006-2009 Toyota 4Runner's came from the factory with halogen projector beam headlamps as standard equipment. While not a good as HID projectors, they are significantly better suited for an HID install than the 2003-2005 4Runner's multi-reflector stlye headlamps. 1.) Tested the headlamps individually with a 12 volt source, and both high and low beam filaments work fine. 2.) Removed covers and tested voltage at the headlight plugs. I get 12 volts to the low beam terminal until I turn on high-beams, and nothing to the high beam or low beam terminals at all. The 'Smart Sense' kit, which adds forward collision prevention (but not AEB) and lane departure warning as well as auto high beam, is a $650 option on Ascent and SX, but standard on the ZR. As mentioned, buttons to control the optional safety system are scattered at random around the cabin, which makes them less easy to use.
